Aylor Middle School Now Equipped With Buzz-in Entry System

Over the summer, buzz-in entry systems were installed at all schools that weren't previously equipped with the system, including James Wood High School. Individuals visiting all Frederick County Public Schools now have to use the system and state their name and the purpose of their visit before being granted access to a school.

Aylor Appropriation

The Frederick County Board of Supervisors have appropriated $45.5 million for a Robert E. Aylor Middle School replacement. Although the appropriation is less than the $52 million initially sought by the School Board, the Board is committed to building a school that will accommodate the greatest number of students and possible future expansion without affecting the ability to implement current instructional pedagogy and the integration of technology.

Project Tomorrow Speak Up
Participate in the 2018 Speak Up Survey

Students, parents, staff and community members are being asked to complete the 2018 Speak Up Survey. The brief, anonymous survey offers the opportunity to share perspectives on key educational issues, particularly issues related to digital learning and the use of technology to support future ready schools. The findings will be used by Frederick County Public Schools in the planning and decision-making process concerning educational technology tools and applications. The deadline to participate is January 31, 2019.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Virginia School Boards Association has recognized Frederick County Public Schools as a Platinum Level Certified Green School Division as part of the Green Schools Challenge. FCPS is one of just 15 school divisions in Virginia to earn Platinum Level status.
